Today is the National Day of Action for Early Learning and Child Care! Child care advocates across the country are pushing for a strong system of early learning and child care, and calling on the federal, provincial, and territorial governments to fulfil their promises to make this system a reality!
In Nova Scotia, we’re pushing for more spaces for children and families across the province, and calling for better wages and working conditions for the ECEs who provide care and early learning opportunities for the children who fill those spaces.
How can you get involved?
- To mark today’s National Day of Action, we’ll be sharing stories from families on their experiences accessing high-quality child care across the province, and ECEs’ experiences working in the sector. Check these out on our social media pages (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram), and be sure to repost!
- Child Care Now also created a “Child Care Advocacy Toolkit” with materials to share. Check it out here!
- We encourage you to sign Child Care Now’s open letter to Minister Sudds and Minister Freeland, calling for more federal funding to ensure early learning and child care is available to all those who want and need it across the country.
- We’ve also created some printable colouring pages! Find these below:
