Ontario to make licensing more affordable for home-based child care
As part of Ontario’s plan to increase access to early childhood education and care, the Government is putting in place funding to encourage home-based child care providers to get licensed through child care agencies. Starting in 2018, the provincial government will transfer ear-marked funds to municipalities to replace the agency fees now charged to licensed providers. This in turn will reduce the cost of parents using licensed providers because currently agency fees are passed onto parents.
